Yog Abhyas

The word ‘Yoga’ derived from the Sankrit word “yuj” which means “to unite or integrate”; Yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing techniques, yoga postures (asanas) and meditation.
Yoga classes have been a part of PARIWAR for more than a decade now. By the continuous urging and support of Late Mrs. Urmila Datar, ‘PARIWAR’ had this facility initiated since the very beginning. All the yoga lovers in the vicinity have benefitted by her foresight and love for yoga. As per the verse ‘shrirmadhyam khatu dharmsadhanam’, initially for a healthy and trouble free life a few ladies started yoga sadhana. In the due course all the ladies benefitted from the good guidance of Late Mrs. Shobhanatai Risbud. For the benefit of the ladies class timings were scheduled at 8 in the morning. But since it was not convenient for the working ladies therefore on their request a second batch was started at 7pm in the evening by Mrs. Rupa Joshi, a disciple of Shobhanatai. ‘Pariwar’ is affiliated to Ghantali Mitra mandal, Thane and is a center to conduct their course. Through this successful venture 40 individuals have become yoga teachers till date and have received their certificates. ‘PARIWAR’ is also benefitted by the love and guidance of respected Yogacharya Shrikrishna Vyavahare who provides guidance regarding various aspects of yoga through the medium of ‘PARIWAR’ at a camp that is held at Manohar Mangal Karyalaya, Pune.
Besides the above under the able guidance of Mrs. Madhavi Alawani the inmates also practice ‘Pranayam’ and ‘Dyaan’. The inmates find the whole exercise not just physically beneficial but also spiritually very uplifting. Besides camps are arranged which are very well organized and attended by many great artists and authorities. Being idyllically situated near the banks of the mutha river Pariwaar boasts of such peace and silence that it is indeed soothing to the heart. This positive energy is further enhanced by the practice of Yoga including ‘omkar’. The entire premise is therefore very different from the other hostels one might come across and is definitely a huge plus for the Pariwaar inmates.
Pariwaar is not just a place to stay but it believes in improving the quality of life for its inmates and it is able to do so in a positive way. Therefore the inmates reciprocate with a lot of love and gratitude in turn creating a lot of positive vibrations.

This with the backdrop of a river bank here at ‘Pariwaar’ everyone experiences the positive energy, and healthy surrounding due to the ‘oamkar’, ‘recital of holy verses’.
